Equipping the bridal suite for your big day is of utmost importance. Typically if you have an event coordinator they will have all the "needed" items. This is some quick pointers though on what to grab for yourself.
Oily Food or Grease: Dust the stain with powder to absorb oil, let it sit for at least 15 minutes and then gently brush away the powder. Wet a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol and dab from the outer edges of the stain to the middle. Generic baby powder is fine. We however recommend getting a bit more exotic. It is your wedding day.
The Midnight Monarch by Camille Beckman is perfect for your event. The scent is subtle and not overwhelming like some perfumed body powders. The Talc is perfect for absorption of stains and it also works well for those sweaty thighs on a hot summer day. Don't leave yourself smelling like a baby, leave yourself smelling like a bride.
2. Makeup Wipes
They aren't just for your face. Makeup wipes are excellent for stains. Blot do NOT rub, that is the primary rule. Before you immediately start using a makeup wipe on your lipstick stain check an underneath section of your gown. The key ingredient for stain remover is Isopropyl alcohol. Some natural makeup wipes do not contain the same ingredients. If you do not have a preferred brand test some ahead of time.
3. Hand Wash
Many products can be hand washed. Tide makes a great travel product that can be used to wash items quickly in the sink or anywhere on the go.
Always check inside seam for colorfastness. It is simple travel laundry detergent that is easily packed and designed for washing in the sink.
A bar of soap is always one of the best stain removers. We are falling in love though with gentle foaming hand soaps for delicate fabrics.
As clean as clean can be, Jade Dragonfly smells of fresh mountain air, cucumber and spring dew. Perfect for your day and the gentleness of the soap is perfect for delicate fabrics. Be aware that foaming soaps contain water and may effect certain fabrics. A seam test is again recommended.
5. Last but not least a white wash cloth, cotton balls and q-tips.
They are your needed ingredients for stain fighting.
Stay tuned the next week for more in your wedding day emergency kit.
