The Lakeside Romance Styled Shoot has some really exciting colors and textures. Coral was the main color in the pallet. Other colors included, grey, pink, orange and gold. When we created the florals for this shoot, it was the perfect time of year for peonies. Peonies have been a floral favorite at weddings for decades. They are a classic flower that will never go out of style. Peonies come in a wide array of colors. Most of the time, when people see a peony, they are either unbloomed or just bloomed enough to have that ruffled texture. In our arrangements, we strived to get the peonies as open as possible. This allowed for the gold color of the center of the peony to be seen. the color combination of the coral and gold was stunning. we also added coral spray roses, pink carnations, orange roses, orange dahlia, pin cushion protea, ranunculus, salal, rosemary, magnolia foliage, eucalyptus, and hawthorn branches.
Some flowers don't come in coral, but by using pinks and oranges, you can create an overall coral color scheme. We used orange dahlias and orange ranunculus with pink carnations and pink spray roses. When we combined these colors together in the arrangement, we created a coral pallet, and it actually persuaded your eyes into seeing coral colors.
One of our favorite aspects of this shoot was the Foliage Boa. We created it by weaving and wiring eucalyptus and Italian ruscus together. The Foliage Boa was used in a couple different photos and scenarios. Our model Danielle looked absolutely breathtaking standing on the dock while wrapped in the boa.
Along with the stunning colors of these arrangements, the smell was tantalizing. The sweet rose smell combined with rosemary created an alluring aroma. The fragrance of your flowers can be as important as the color. Occasionally when choosing flowers, you don't want to pick flowers that are overwhelmingly fragrant. This can distract your guests and even cause allergies. We chose these particular flowers because of the subtle notes in the fragrance. Rosemary is used as an herb in many food dishes, and the smell can stimulate your mind into being hungry. With the arrangements on the table so close to the plates, it was important to have fragrances that will compliment the cuisine.
The stunning backdrop of Payette Lake and The Shore Lodge, helped create the perfect setting for these wonderful flowers and will continue to provide the perfect destination for many brides to come.
