I’m an LDS bride, so our wedding experience was a unique ceremony and day. We knew all we needed was our family and good friends with us and we’d be happy. I started planning a month before we were even engaged (I saw it coming and I needed time!) so with the early planning, I’d found the dress before the ring. I needed to add sleeves and a back onto the dress, due to modesty standards, and although I didn’t typically love the look of sleeves on most dresses, I was ecstatic with how mine turned out! I’d decided to do blush, champagne, and gold for the wedding colors. I found an intimate venue in the city that fit the aesthetic I wanted and booked it immediately. Finding a photographer was easy, because Tana was the only one I saw that fit my style perfectly, and she did an incredible job.
On January 17, I was married in the Boise Temple to my handsome, best pal. We took photos in front of the Temple with our family and close friends and then headed to the state capital building for our formal portrait session, to stay out of the cold, and include the feel of Boise city. When we arrived at the reception, I was a proud, blushing bride when I saw that my rose centerpieces and gold accents came together perfectly. To keep the décor within our budget, we used our personal photos in gold frames and large, scented candles in clear glass vases to create a personal and warm room. We had a simple, petite wedding cake to cut, and served sweet vanilla cupcakes to our friends and family. Guests were invited to our hot chocolate bar to create their own twist on the traditional cold-weather drink.
